Gov. Mitch Daniels takes the podium
Written By: Matt "Night" Rider
Ball State University has hosted some really big names in the world of late. On March 17th, they will add another one.
Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels (Pictured Left) will be here to speak to students and faculty in the Student Center at this famed educational machine we like to call Ball State University. The speech will start at 11 A.M. Governor Daniels rescheduled his BSU address due to weather condition. It should be a great speech, so come out and show some support to the Head of Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels.

Students Ready For Spring Break
Student head to a variety of Spring Break vacation spots
Written By: Matt "Night" Rider
Nice image huh? Many Ball State students are heading to various hot spots in the Florida area. Panama City, FL., Dustin, FL. are all on tap for some BSU students. Daytona Beach, FL (Pictured Left) is where I am headed for my Spring Break in the sun.
I'm going with a buddy to the AMA Supercross races on Saturday night at the famed Daytona International Speedway. In fact, I'm headed down there right after I type these two simple blogs. I wish everyone, including Dr. Heifitz a radical, fun, and safe Spring Break.

"The Nest" Finally Fills Up
BSU students back the Cards
Written By: Matt "Night" Rider
The positives are it get's the rest of the student section into the game, if they are texting or what not. It also pumps up the players in some aspects. If they see the students are screaming "I'm blind, I'm deef, I wanna be a ref," then the motivation is there to regroup and rip their opponents apart.

Muncie, Ind.- Tuesday night's Ball State men's basketball game was the first time in a long time that "The Nest" has filled up. As both the women's and men's basketball teams have gradually began to win at home, "The Nest" is filling up.
Students from various majors have a common goal, to fill "The Nest" and watch the Cardinals kick their opponents out of Worthen Arena. With big help from the Cardinal's Crew (also students), the student section is filling up.
Students become large noise makers, and get crazy at the basketball games. These reactions are both positive and negative. First I will discuss the negative. For instance, if little dynmo point guard Randy Davis get's hacked, as he drives to the basket, and there is no call, the students scream cuss words at the top of their lungs. If they are heard, or scream cuss words loud enough, this action could result in a technical being assessed to the Cardinals or removal from the game or both. I am a relatively calm person under pressure, but the students around me often cuss and scream throughout the game, which pisses me off.

Fruesday Vote Passes
Written By: Matt "Night" Rider
Fruesday is in affect. The Student Council at Ball State passed the vote for Fruesday. On the Tuesday before Thanksgiving Break (Pictured Left), Ball State students will go to their Friday schedule in place of their regularly scheduled Tuesday schedule.
This may confuse new freshmen at Ball State but if they just ask for some assistance, they will catch on to the new schedule. Ball State students can only hold on and pray that God gives them an easy class schedule the Tuesday before Thanksgiving Break.

Jackson Brings Positive Message
Written By: Matt "Night" Rider
Muncie, Ind- The Reverend Jesse Jackson (Pictured Left) brought a positive message to Ball State, speaking to many students and Muncie residents.
For a number of Ball State students, Jackson's speech class requirements, but others showed up with curiosity to see what one of the most influential speakers of our time had to say. Jackson hit on many issues within our country. Coexistence within the black and white people was a key point that Jackson focused on a great deal. Acceptance within race was the first step to better understand unity. After the speech, Jackson held a thirty minute question and answer session for the audience to ask him whatever they wanted too.
Overall, it was a good experience for the Ball State students. I wonder why who will be the next big speaker at Ball State University?
